Would you like to sleep in a old provencal house? eat provencal specialities of the district? discover natural and cultural heritage of the high-Provence? go hiking, riding horses? go swiming or boating in the many different lakes?
Then come to “The Colombière”. It is a large old restored “mas” (Provencal farmhouse) built in the 17th century, traditional architecture farm style in Haute Provence (antique pigeon-house ,stone house..) in the natural park of Verdon, at the foot of the beautiful Alpes mountains but not far from the Mediterranean sea (100km)... Saint-Laurent du Verdon Is a small and quiet village, far from the busy roads... just near the green Verdon river , a footpath through the fields ,goes to the lake (1km by foot)... This is a place for lovers of nature and silence where you can explore a very rich fauna (birds and butterflies) and flora. The house itself is situated between a castle and olive grove set near to cornfields . Our cooking based on fresh countryside produce from local markets, a mix of mediterranean scents and mountain tastes ... We organise week-end breaks and short discovery holidays with professionnal guides to explore the area from the italian frontier to the mediterranean coast. We can organise a variety of excursions and trips including horseback riding and hiking, also climbing or different nautical sports on the local lakes if you are interested...Please ask for more information... |
